F***

You think you're on the right track, and you make a fuckin' mistake. Apparently artists are supposed to thrive on the fluctuating emotions, but shit, this stuff kills me, I hate it... emotion. One incident, one decision, can really change the flow of life eh?

Inspiration. Where are you? You're buried in my sadness.

Cultural Evolution

Salmon love, salmon sex, salmon doin' things like fertilizing land. My first downtown art show opened this last Friday. It went awesome. Painting seems to be meshing right into whatever it is life is becoming. An email introduction, a good idea, show is up in a week, and two paintings have sold. Although the paintings are not from the salmon sex trio, I believe that my salmon paintings are what got me into the 'qualified for showing' category. If not, I'll just keep tellin' myself what I want to hear, and salmon sex will continue on:)

It's not often that I am engulfed in the art scene, so the show was a great reminder of what other artists are like. Life in the bush can sometimes get a little conservative and hanging out with the extroverted creative type was great inspiration.

The show is up for the entire month of October at the Alaska Native Arts Foundation Gallery, downtown Anchorage on 6th Ave, next to JC penny parking:) My favorite pieces are actually the work of Drew Michael, a young carver. His masks are amazing, and if you're into native arts, his masks are worth the trip downtown.
